Privacy Policy

FidelDoc is a free Android application that provides on-device OCR for Ethiopian languages (Amharic, Afaan Oromo, Tigrinya) and document manipulation tools. Privacy is a core design principle: all processing happens entirely on your device.

FidelDoc does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

• Documents, images, or files you process
• OCR results or extracted text
• Personal identification information
• Device identifiers or location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Crash reports or diagnostic data

FidelDoc requests internet permission solely for downloading OCR language pack files (Tesseract traineddata files) when you explicitly tap “Get” on a language pack in Settings. These files are downloaded from public repositories. No document content is ever transmitted during this process.

All core features (OCR, PDF merge/split/compress, image conversion) work fully offline.

FidelDoc requests storage permissions to read files you select for processing and to write output files to your chosen location. The app does not access files beyond those you explicitly open or export.

If the camera scan feature is used, FidelDoc accesses your camera only in real-time to capture images for OCR. No images are stored internally by the app or transmitted anywhere.

FidelDoc does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The OCR engine (Tesseract) and all processing libraries run entirely locally.

FidelDoc does not knowingly collect information from children. Since we collect no data from any users, this policy applies equally regardless of age.

If this policy is updated, the new version will be published at this URL and the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
