FidelDoc is designed as an offline-first document scanner, OCR, and PDF utility app. Document processing is performed on your device. We do not upload your scanned documents, OCR text, or exported files to our servers.
> 2. Information We Collect
FidelDoc does not collect or store your documents, OCR text, personal information, advertising identifiers, or analytics data on our servers.
> 3. On-Device Storage
To provide scanning, OCR, Library, and export features, FidelDoc may store data locally on your device, including:
- scanned images
- imported files selected by you
- OCR results
- document titles and extracted metadata saved in the in-app Library
- exported PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, or image files
This information remains on your device unless you choose to share or export it.
> 4. Permissions and Access
FidelDoc may request access to:
- Camera: to capture document scans
- Files and media: to open documents you select and save exported files you choose to keep
FidelDoc uses the Android system file picker where possible so you control which files are opened or saved.
> 5. Internet Access
FidelDoc does not use internet access to upload your documents to us. Internet access may be used only for:
- downloading optional extra OCR language packs
- Google Play services components related to on-device text recognition support
Your document content is not sent to us by FidelDoc.
> 6. Third-Party Services
FidelDoc may rely on Android system components and Google Play services to support some on-device functionality. These components are provided by their respective platform providers.
> 7. Data Security
FidelDoc stores your data locally using Android’s standard file system APIs. Exported files are saved to locations you choose via the system file picker. We do not transmit your documents or OCR results to external servers. The security of data stored on your device depends on your device’s own security settings such as screen lock and storage encryption.
> 8. Children's Privacy
FidelDoc is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
> 9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
